Service users from across Lincolnshire are being encouraged to attend the Lincolnshire Wheelchair Service Open Day, which will be held in the Travis Perkins Suite, Lincoln City Football Club, this Saturday 2 December.
The event, which will be open from 10am to 2pm, will be an opportunity for service users, their friends, families and carers to come along and engage with a range of providers including Millbrook Healthcare, Lincolnshire County Council, and members of the NHS.
“We are really keen that service users and people with an interest in the wheelchair service in Lincolnshire join us on Saturday,” explains Christine Cobham, Quality Lead, South West Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group. “User feedback- good, bad or indifferent - is vitally important for shaping services for the future.”
The event on Saturday is also an opportunity to find out more about the launch of a pilot for the new Personal Wheelchair Budgets.
“We are hoping to get a good turnout on Saturday. The event will provide an opportunity for service users to not only provide their feedback on the wheelchair service, but also to find out more about how they can get involved and meet representatives from the NHS, Millbrook and Lincolnshire County Council.”
It is not necessary to book to attend the wheelchair user engagement event, which is free to attend. There is plenty of accessible, free parking at the football ground.
