South West Lincolnshire CCG is committed to understanding the needs, concerns and experiences of residents so it can deliver the best possible health services. We understand that positive health outcomes for the people of South West Lincolnshire can only be achieved if patients and local people remain at the heart of everything we do.

This commitment is embedded within our constitution

Page 14 of the constitution clearly highlights the importance of patient and public participation in section 5.2 General Duties - in discharging its functions the CCG will:

The CCG will follow a Statement of Principles in implementing these arrangements. These principles include:

  • Working in partnership with patients and the local community to secure the best care for the population

  • Listening to our patients and communities to ensure that they are involved, informed and empowered

  • Adapting engagement activities to meet the specific needs of different patient groups and communities

  • Publishing information about health services on the website and by making the information available in other formats

  • Encouraging and acting on feedback and handling complaints in accordance with the CCG’s complaints handling policy

  • Engaging with the Lincolnshire Overview and Scrutiny Committee where necessary formally consulting with stakeholders and the public on proposals when there is need to changes services

  • Identifying how the group will monitor and report its compliance against the statement of principles
