Safeguarding children

Safeguarding children and young people and protecting them from harm is everyone’s responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and families has a role to play in:

• protecting children from maltreatment;

• preventing impairment of children's health or development;

• ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and

• taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Board

The Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) is a statutory, multi-agency board made up of representatives from the Local Authority, Police, Health Service, Probation Trust, Youth Offending Service and the Voluntary Sector to make sure safeguarding policies, procedures and working practice are effective in supporting and protecting children at risk.

The LSCB vision is that every child and young person in Lincolnshire is safeguarded via the provision of accessible, timely, co- ordinated, high quality multi-agency services.
