"I joined the CCG a few months ago from being a palliative care nurse. This role is very different from my clinical nursing position but I was attracted to it as it enables me to use my nursing skills looking at quality issues and also engaging with patients and the public.
For 70 years the NHS has offered free health care to patients and is continually striving to improve services, so for me being involved in gaining patient and public feedback to help shape these services is vital.
My role takes me into the community to see a wide range of patient groups in order for their voice to be heard and to encourage them to be involved in service developments and be part of making changes for the better.
As part of the quality team, visiting service providers to ensure high standards of care are being delivered is very important to me as our patients deserve to receive quality care. Talking to patients on these visits allows the CCG team to hear patient experiences which can help shape services moving forward."
