"From being 5 years old I always wanted to be a nurse, obviously as all children do I swapped and changed my mind a few times but nursing was my passion. I joined the NHS in 1983 at a student nurse and haven’t looked back since, I have had a fabulous career progression from student nurse to Executive Nurse / Director of Quality.

I have had the privilege of meeting and nursing people during times of their life were they needed nursing but more importantly , compassion , care and kindness, which I believe are the core of nursing values. I have worked with some amazing doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals and think the staff in the NHS do a fabulous job in often very challenging circumstances.

I would hope the NHS continues to strive to provide excellent quality of care to our population and remains an attractive career option, as there are so many opportunities."
